THE DRAMATIC AMATEURS.-The members of the newly formed company gave their first performance at the Assembly Rooms, on Wednesday evening last, the opening piece being "The Dream at Sea," in which the various characters were very respectably sustained; the ladies, especially, acquitting themselves most creditably, and being really far superior to many lady amateurs, whose efforts we have witnessed.
The farce of "The Rendezvous," excellently played, brought a very agreeable evening to a most satisfactory conclusion.
The mise en scene, and the musical arrangements were both highly commendable. A full and fashionable audience "assisted," and to judge from the applause and laughter the various "situations" elicited, the numbers present were highly delighted.
The second performance came off on Thursday, and a capital house duly appreciated and amply rewarded the members of the Weston Amateur Dramatic Society. The only alteration in the "bill of fare" was that "the Boots at the Swan" was substituted for "The Rendezvous," and that rattling farce, being very fairly played, "went off" capitally.
